Intro

I was hired to design a greenfield global financial ecosystem that incorporates a variety of innovative features: a trading platform, a proprietary trading engine, and a peer-to-peer payments system. I was primarily responsible for the discovery and implementation of the trading platform, aiming to enrich the overall user experience and increase both engagement and retention rates.

Given the greenfield nature of the project and the strict regulatory banking requirements, I conducted extensive research on limitations and technological opportunities. The goal was to ensure the platform received full approval from national entities while adhering to global AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and KYC (Know Your Customer) regulations.

Challenges

The main challenges we faced were:

• Data Visualization: Dealing with high-volume, real-time data that required effective and intuitive visual representations.

• Security & Compliance: Navigating the complexities of designing a platform that adheres to stringent KYC verification and other financial regulations.

• Complex User Interfaces: The difficulty for novice users to navigate platforms effectively.

• Limited Customisation: Advanced traders often seek highly customisable platforms.
